Oregon Contractors Association Mission Statement

Oregon Contractors Association, Inc., represents contractors, regardless of race, color, creed, age, sex or membership or non-membership in a labor organization, who seek equity and fairness in both the interpretation of, and proposed amendments or changes to, existing policies, laws, rules, and regulations affecting contractors doing business in the State of Oregon.

We believe not only in upholding, honoring, and sustaining all laws, but also in promoting changes to the same when they unreasonably hamper our opportunities for success.

We believe that where there is inequity in opportunity for one contractor, there is potentially inequity for all contractors and we seek to correct these inequities wherever possible and feasible to do so. Until the disparities are corrected, we will seek to warn other members of the Association about them so each can strategize to avoid potential pitfalls to success.

We hope to share with other members our collective lessons learned by experience so that all can utilize and benefit from each other’s knowledge.

We believe there are fair-minded individuals within the State government who can help affect positive changes when we seek them out and state our positions to them.

We also believe we have the ability to appeal to resourceful and influential individuals in the private sector who we can positively influence the policy-makers.

We believe that a movement to effect contractor-friendly changes in Oregon laws, rules, and regulations will not only assist contractors, but businesses in general, helping our economy flourish unhindered by unnecessary government burden.

We believe in the tenets of the free enterprise system, and seek to promote and sustain viable candidates for political office who also hold these values.
