About the Oregon Contractors Association

The Oregon Contractors Association (OCA) was founded by local contractors to be a trade association that would be focused on local issues, not run by a national organization that doesn't care about the local needs of the members. Because the staff was created by contractors, all people employed by the association are either contractors or business owners that understand your needs, and better able to help you and your business.

The first major accomplishment of the association was to get one of our founding members, Kim Thatcher (KT Contracting), to run for an Oregon House seat. We had a victory through our efforts and despite being outspent 2 to 1, we helped get a contractor elected to office.

It is our belief that the association can be a benefit to your construction company, as an advocate to local and state government agencies, as a resource to information, as a vehicle for highlighting your company and services, and offering discounts on services and products through the trade association. We are here to serve you and truly live up to our motto of "Contractors Helping Contractors."
